"What is Chorus Angelicus and Gaudeamus?"
Chorus Angelicus and Gaudeamus is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, founded in 1991. Chorus Angelicus provides choral music training for children in Grades K and up. Gaudeamus is a adult chamber chorus. The choirs study and perform a variety of secular and sacred choral literature.
"Where does Chorus Angelicus and Gaudeamus rehearse and perform?"
The choirs rehearse at Trinity Episcopal Church in Torrington, CT and have performed internationally.
"What kind of time commitment is involved?"
Chorus Angelicus rehearses on Monday and Thursday evenings from September through June. It is expected that all singers will commit for the entire performance season. Training Choir meets from 5:00pm-6:30pm on Mondays. Advanced Training Choir meets on Thursdays from 5:00pm-6:30pm. Junior and Senior choirs rehearse from 5:00pm-6:30pm on Mondays and Thursdays. Gaudeamus does not have a regular rehearsal schedule.
"What will my child learn?"
Most children enter Chorus Angelicus with an ordinary background in singing. What eventually makes all of them extraordinary is their hard work, commitment and passion for music. The challenging repertoire of music they must master requires a thorough education in music theory and ear training while demanding their utmost in terms of diligence and self-discipline. They become accomplished musicians as they learn to blend their voices to create the unique sound that is Chorus Angelicus. Along the way, they learn self-respect, discipline, confidence, and a willingness to strive for results of the highest caliber in all aspects of their lives.
"How much does it cost?"
Through the support of our donors, we are able to supply an excellent choral education to you at a fraction of the cost.
Training Choir and Advanced Training Choir tuition is $575 per year (roughly $9.75/hour!)
Junior & Senior Choir tuition is $925 per year (roughly $8/hour!)
Gaudeamus is by audition or invitation only and does not have any fees associated with it
"Besides tuition, are there any other costs?"
Registration fees, camp fees, and trip costs for regional or national performances are the responsibility of the singers. These costs vary depending upon the event.
"Are payment plans or scholarships available?"
Chorus Angelicus families may choose to pay tuition in full for a $50 tuition discount or pay in two installments due in September and January.
Chorus Angelicus has made a committment to see that all interested children are given a chance to join. We try hard to outfit all families in need with the neccessary funds for their child to participate. Scholarship application forms are available upon request and will be considered by the Board of Directors.

"Can I get involved with the organization, as well?"
